3 Ways to Free The Hungry Ghost Energy of The New Year
Hola Beloved Friend,
Do you know the feeling when everything in your life feels stuck? It is like an energetic force of heaviness pouring from every single direction, and no matter what you do, you cannot pass it through it.
Today, I want to talk about the energetic heaviness that affects the harmony of our wellness and how we can release our burdens from the tail of the old year to enter the new year energetically to open and blossom. You are about to hear how ancestral wisdom in energetic spaces can hold the key to unlocking emotional resilience in our overloaded and overstimulated world.
Here is a fascinating fact: most ancient cultures and philosophies from around the world share a similar perspective on human existence and its relationship with the ecosystem of nature. They believe that humans are an integral part of nature and that our bodies are not only physical matter but also possess an energetic force with a life of its own. This energy is like other subtle beings found in nature.
This belief extends to the spaces we inhabitāour surroundings possess energies that can become congested for many different reasons; very frequently, these types of energies are called āheavy energies.ā Neglecting to cleanse or release these spaces leads to the accumulation of heaviness. When our energetic spaces get stuck, ancient wisdom suggests that sickness of the heart and mind reside in those spaces. The connection between our energetic selves and the environments we occupy is profound, impacting our well-being.
Exploring this interplay sheds light on practices that have transcended time and that offer insights into maintaining balance and harmony in both our physical and energetic realms.
Our emotional and mental state is closely related to the energy surrounding us, and heavy energy can impact us greatly.
There is a level of co-relationship that, in my opinion, makes sense. Our emotional and mental state is closely related to the energy surrounding us, and heavy energy can impact us greatly.
The key is to acknowledge its presence and learn how to manage it effectively. By creating a harmonious space where heavy energies can coexist with nature without causing harm, we can allow the flow of revitalized energy into our lives. This prevents those not-so-wholesome emotions from becoming energetically heavy, like a hungry ghost, that continues to be fed out by avoidance and getting heavier.
Instead, when we work and remove heavy energies with respect, we can operate from a balanced and energized state.
šļø A whole brand new year:
January the new year seem to find a fitting opportunity to cleanse the heavy energies that linger. While the end-of-the-year festivities based on the Gregorian calendar may not align with ancient calendars ā that were based on the planting, harvesting, and resting seasons ā They offer a contemporary avenue to renew both physical and energetic spaces. Generations have passed down wisdom on preparing our bodies, fostering a timeless connection. Simple yet potent methods pave the way for energetic renewal.
Here are my 3 top-pick practices that I encourage my clients to explore during this time of the year or when the energy feels heavy, and the hungry ghosts are taking more space than what you want them to take. It is good to mention that my approach based on research incentivizes cultural sensitivity and ensures that no overharvesting of ancestral wisdom takes place. These practices are pretty universal, energetic, and safe to engage with - when practiced with respect.
š¦ Renew with Water: Water holds significant spiritual importance in many indigenous cultures. So, how about a ceremonial bath, river immersion, or waterfall cleansing? Across many ancient cosmovision, it is believed to wash away heavy energies and prepare the soul to flourish. If you are not able to immerse yourself in a river due to weather or location, you can still enjoy the benefits by heating up some water and adding colorful flower petals to create a bath of flowering water.
āļø Rebirth with Sunlight: Ancient cultures revered the sun for its life-giving properties. Exposing ourselves to sunlight with intention and admiration, especially during specific times of the day (sunrise and sunset), is considered a means of absorbing solar energy and dispelling darkness. Sunlight rituals can be practiced to refresh the spirit and enhance overall well-being. Go outside and let the sun give you life.
šØ Restore with Wind: Intentional exposure to and honoring the gentle winds is considered a powerful method for clearing and restoring energy. With purpose, stand or sit in a location where the wind can freely pass through, inviting a sense of fresh, revitalizing energy. The wind, viewed as a potent force, becomes a channel for spiritual rejuvenation in ancient cultural practices. Engaging in intentional breathwork or standing in the path of a gentle breeze will allow you to release the blockage of hungry ghosts.
By practicing rituals with reverence and sacredness, we can acknowledge and coexist with heavy energy in our physical spaces. This can harmonize the subtle energies around us.
May these timeless rituals empower you in the new year to create a space for personal rejuvenation by weaving together ancient insights and modern lifestyle.
